Free RPG Day in June

Now that we are all home from Gamestorm and the dust has settled, I wanted to ask you all about Free RPG Day in June.  www.freerpgday.com takes place Saturday June 21st from 11:00am-10:00pm.  This is shortly after the release of D&D 4th edition and D&D Game day (which we will also be hosting), and I anticipate a lot of role-playing excitement.

We are signed up for the kit (which seems to get new material almost daily), and I want to start some buzz and excitement for all of the great games in the kit.

The way we ran the event last year was very successful and well received.  We laid out all of the swag and assigned each a number between 1 and 20.  Folks that were willing play in a game demo or one-shot got their choice from the swag table.  People just passing through, rolled a D20 and got whichever free item corresponded to their die roll.

We had about 12 demos that ran throughout the day, and we had over 50 people stay and play a game.

I would like to run things the same this year.  And increase our numbers by inviting GoPlay PDX, Gamestorm, D&D Meetup, Yahoo Groups, and affiliates to join us for a great day of gaming.  This will be a great chance to network with other gamers in the Portland area, and play some games.

Game masters who volunteer to run a game at FreeRPG day will receive free pizza, free soda, and $5.00 in store credit.  Contact me if you'd like to make sure you have a chance to run a game.

Players will be able to RSVP for game seats about one week prior to the event.
